The Face Behind The Blog
My blog is aimed at people who want to travel and understand a little of the people, the culture and the way of life within a country. It is not for people who want to dash round a place staying in fancy hotels with all their needs catered for. If you enjoy a bit of a challenge and you are not scared to step outside your comfort zone, this is the place for you

My Story
Blogging & Travelling Abroad
A Life of Travel
My first adventure was at the tender age of thirteen, followed by school exchange programmes to France and Germany. Having travelled and worked in over 100 countries now and stayed for prolonged periods of time, I have built up a wealth of experience and knowledge. There is still so much more to see and explore and I am passionate about sharing the fun and excitement that is available to everyone with that feeling of wanderlust. Follow my adventures or pick up helpful snippets that make your adventures that bit better. Happy travels

The start of the Blogging Adventure 2008
How I Got Started Blogging
The story started with a year away from a stressful job with a plan to travel until the money ran out. The first port of call was India then slowly through South East Asia. The blog was a means of recording the fun and adventures and reassuring friends back home that I was still very much alive.
Why I Blog
My Experience with Budget Travel
From my early days of travel to my current situation, my dilemma was always whether to pay a little more and spend less time in a location, or to economise more and be able to spend more time travelling. The budget option nearly always wins with me. So long and health and security are not compromised, the opportunity to spend a little longer will generally pay dividends with the extra places you can visit
Where Am I Now?
My current challenge is now organising the trip scheduled for this winter and how much to organise up front, and how much to leave, in order to be flexible and be able to change my plans. Needless to say the transatlantic flight is booked. The ferry and accommodation can wait.
